Barry McCabe was born in the great metropolis of Indianapolis. He, like Ben, attended Carmel schools, in the northern suburbs. He graduated in '88, however; five years before Ben. In his post high school era, he's attended Purdue University, Herron School of Art, and IUPUI, studying Mechanical Enginering, Art, and Computer Programming respectively. At the moment he takes classes at IUPUI, and works as Technical Support for Continuing Studies at IUPUI

Barry began his illustrious music career/hobby at the age of six, when he started taking piano lessons. Those stopped when he reached ten, though. He played the trombone throughout junior high, and high school; playing both with band ensembles and jazz bands. The trombone playing ended with high school.

At the age of nineteen, Barry picked up the guitar. But nothing much happened until the age of 21, when he started playing more regularly, and taking it more seriously. He never really looked to be in a band, though. In the spring, he came across a classified ad in a newsgroup placed by Ben. He replied, but he didn't have much time for a band. When the spring semester ended, he contacted Ben saying he had time to play. The Sunflower Conspiracy, Barry's first band, formed from the meeting and playing of Ben, Kate, and Barry.
